Metallic Foil HTV — Premium Shine for Standout Designs

Design Foil HTV delivers a smooth, reflective metallic finish that catches light and draws attention. Unlike glitter HTV, foil creates a clean, mirror-like surface — ideal for logos, brand names, accent details, and premium apparel where you want a polished metallic look without texture.

When to Use Foil vs. Other Metallic HTV

  • Foil HTV: Smooth, flat metallic shine — best for text, logos, and accent details
  • Glitter HTV: Textured sparkle — best for fashion, cheer, and all-over designs

Application Notes

Foil HTV is thinner than standard PU vinyl, which means it cuts easily but requires a lighter touch when weeding fine details. Press at medium temperature — too hot can dull the metallic finish. Use a Teflon sheet to protect the surface during pressing.

Design Tips

Foil works best as an accent rather than full-coverage. Pair foil text or logos over a standard HTV base layer for multi-dimensional designs that mix matte and metallic finishes.

Application instructions
  1. Cut: Mirror your design and cut using a craft cutter or plotter.
  2. Weed: Remove excess vinyl, leaving only your design.
  3. Press: Apply with a heat press at 275°F for 10 seconds using medium pressure.
  4. COLD Peel: Wait for the vinyl to cool to retain shiny foil finish. Do not repress, unless a matte finish is desired.

Impressed

Super impressed with this gold foil. Really pretty and shiny! When you pull the plastic sheet while the press is still warm it will give this cool wavy look. If you want a smooth finish, let it cool down and peel slow.
